The Vampires (In Darkness We Must Abide, #5)In Darkness We Must Abide
Episode #5: The Vampires
by Rhiannon Frater
published May 17th 2013

All is not well in the Socoli world. Vanora is on the cusp of adulthood and preparing to move way to attend college. Used to their sibling being their anchor to the mortal world, Roman and Alisha are already feeling adrift in their dark world. Meanwhile, the mysterious Armando, shrouded in all his secrets, draws ever closer to Vanora as her feelings for him deepen. Soon their small world will explode into chaos, leaving Vanora to wonder if all she believed to be true were lies.

Synopsis from Goodreads

I don't usually buy into the whole "text speak" but in this case I might be willing to make an exception.
OMG!!! OMFG!! And with that, Rhiannon tears is all down, and leaves us with a puddle of grief and suspense.

I am spent.

I can't force you guys to read this serial, but if I could, you have to know I would. You know... if I was big and burly, and somewhat intimidating, I would walk around with copies of this book glaring at random strangers until they started reading. Then, my work would be done, since they would no doubt be hooked. So just save us all the hassle, and just get yourself a copy.

Vanora is amazing. She is strong and independent. She is beautiful, even though she can't see it herself. She is everything I wish I could be, and is exactly the kind of heroine I can root for. I just wish I knew what to cheer for. Do I want her to be with Armando? Do I think she should try to lead a human life, when the darkness so clearly has her in its sights? The only thing I can say for sure is that I am desperate for season 2!! From the beginning, Rhiannon has given us a few clues about what is to come, but I don't think it will be an easy journey for poor Vanora.

Armando. Prrrrr..... You all know how I feel about Armando, and you probably feel the same. If you don't, then I'm sorry, but I can't be friends with you anymore. In fact, I don't think I can even be seen in public with you. Probably a good thing you don't live in Winnipeg...

The hardest part about reviewing a serial is not giving anything away. I keep assuming that people have read episodes 1-4 and I want to talk about how it has all been a set up for episode 5. I hope you all appreciate how much I have had to restrain myself for the past couple months. Seriously. I may have taken up drinking a little. The stress has simply been too much.

I know I don't need to say this, but Rhiannon rocks some serious face off. We all know it! She is one of those authors who never fails to impress. She works hard for her fans, and it shows. I will never hesitate to invest my time (and maybe my heart... pass the kleenex) in her books.

Can't recommend this enough!
